Cockpit Log

Privacy Policy

How Cockpit Log collects, uses, stores, and protects personal information.

Effective date: 2026/07/15

Developer Hyeongju Park (“we”) values the privacy of users of Cockpit Log (the “Service”) and complies with applicable laws. This policy explains what information the Service collects and how we use, store, and protect it.

1. Information we collect and why

The Service collects data from the sensors on the user’s own device and does not store externally sourced aircraft-operations data as recorded values.

2. Processors and third parties

ProcessorDataPurpose
Google (Firebase Authentication, Analytics, Crashlytics)Account identifier, email, crash logs, usage eventsAuthentication, analytics, crash reporting
MapboxLocation coordinates for map displayMap and route rendering
Cockpit Log API (our backend)Flight summary statistics (max altitude/speed, etc.), flight number, airport codes, account identifier (excluding location coordinates)Storing and syncing record summaries

We do not sell your personal information or share it with third parties beyond the purposes above, except where required by law or with your separate consent.

3. International transfer

Through the processors above (e.g., Google LLC), your data may be stored and processed on servers outside your country, including in the United States, for the purposes described here.

4. Location data

  • Location is used solely to create and display flight recordings.
  • Your real-time location and flight track (GPS coordinates) are stored only on your device and are never transmitted to or stored on our servers. Only summary statistics and trip metadata (flight number, airport codes) — excluding coordinates — are sent to our server.
  • For accurate recordings, location may be collected while the app is in the background or the screen is off.
  • You may revoke location permission at any time in your device settings; location-based features will then be limited.
We do not store your location or flight-track data on our own servers; that data stays only on your device.

5. Retention and deletion

We retain personal information for as long as your account is active. When you delete a recording or request account deletion, we delete the data without undue delay, except where retention is required by law.

6. Your rights

  • You may request access, correction, deletion, restriction of processing, and withdrawal of consent.
  • You can delete individual flight records in the app; the corresponding server records are deleted as well.
  • To delete your account and all data, contact us at the address below.

7. Children

The Service is not directed to children under the age of 14, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

8. Security

We apply reasonable safeguards, including encryption in transit (HTTPS). No method of internet transmission is completely secure, however.

9. Changes

We may update this policy in response to legal or service changes and will post updates on this page.
